It's Friday. Lunch Time. and this time tomorrow, I will be en route, along with my Mayhem Show corhorts, on our way to big, bad New York City.
Back in the beginning of December, fan of the show, Mad Mike visited us for the weekend, stayed with Doc Remedy and Chad the Shad, and attended the two night IWC celebration with us. In turn, we were invited up to see the Royal Rumble, the favorite pay per view of the year, in some cases behind WrestleMania, at the mecca itself, Madison Square Garden.
Ok, so we're just getting nose bleeds, but that doesn't matter much. It's just being there in that legendary place. Site of Wrestlemania 1, 10, and 20. The hometown arena of WWF back in the day as it started to become national. As it kicked off the Rock n' Wrestling Connection back in the 80's. To be in the same building that all of those legends that even predate Bruno Sammartino's run at the top. And to get to go there with a group of friends that all appreciate this as much as I do.
Look out. This weekend the Mayhem Takes Manhattan.

And the next whim...
Here's self reflective joint. I always have to step back when I've hit a milestone...Smell the roses, if you will.
JuggaloJohn: "sorg starts something on a whim and 90 percent of the time it explodes"

Shit, really?
Well, we just celebrated our 100 episodes of the Wrestling Mayhem Show. Something started on a whim, I suppose. And by chance. Evolved from streaming radio that had no future or purpose at the time. Now, we are part of a crew that unconferencees look forward to at Podcamps, listeners tune into live and via podcast every week, and at least two fans, who are doing better than us, have taken the time to visit. Now we're heading to New York City as a crew. This show could never make any of us a cent (we've hardly made enough to pay for the bandwidth, or even the energy drinks we consume) but the rewards are plenty. I have spent plenty of late Tuesday nights making sure this show is as good as it can be going out the door, and people reciprocate.
100 episodes of Mayhem
6 years of Juggalos
1 album and maybe 20 times on stage
While some have identified me as the driving force, there is nothing I haven't accomplished without the help of those around me. Mayhem wouldn't be near the success without the talented and interesting people that talk with me every week and the fans that participate. WPAJ
wouldn't be here still without all of us sitting around a lobby table coming up with ideas that put us on the map. CRAP wouldn't happen with out Jeff stepping up and showing me how to flow, or Doc giving us beats and studio to hone our stuff.

Mayhem doesn't exist with out the Mayhemers.
WPAJ doesn't exist without the Western Pennsylvania Juggalos.
CRAP doesn't exist without my fellow Hip Hop CRAP Stars.
Because then it would all just be the Sorg show. And I'm sure I'm not nearly that interesting...
What's my next whim going to be...

Cloverfield
Yep, it's the latest buzz from JJ Abrams. Yep, it's the next Blair Witch. Yep, it got me.
Basically, since I first saw that low key, less is more trailer months ago that told you nothing but this movie was going to be interesting. Then maybe a second trailer with more mysteries posed. They gave y0u just enough to make you question what you were seeing. At first glimpse, it was a Godzilla meets Blair Witch. Then some key shots in the next trailer made people wonder. Is it aliens? Is it a government fuck up thing?
While this movie wasn't about answering those questions, its really about taking for the ride. And what a fucking ride. I got the following about a half hour before I sat down for the movie:
DocRemedy Cloverfield is by far one of the most intense movies i have ever seen!!
That was the precursor to this thing. Its like Abrams went back and looked at Alien and pumped up the scale form a small starship to the massive city of New York (Manhattan, but still). You see just enough of the thing. And in the long run, know exactly as much as the characters do at any given time. Up until you finally see the thing and are still asking just what the fuck.
Before I saw this movie, I was reading snippets from Google's reviews page. One comment "this movie will split audiences" put a picture in my head of the scene I would see. And I was about on key. There were plenty of comments to the screen of "what the fuck" or making fun of the characters' emotion. And the "shoddy" camera work. But then the movie ended. Abruptly, of course. "I want my 9 bucks back" was uttered several times. I was actually amazed the high school mooks behind me appreciated it though. And then there was a group of, lets say "internet geeks" from the looks, sitting, waiting for the credits to end just in case. Quite a few, actually. I was just glad to not be alone in that venture. So yeah, that review was dead on. I expect, if some of the people I know have seen it, it will be the same thing. I can't wait to talk about this one.
So here you have it. Blair Witch's concept with a Hollywood budget...
It's funny that I enjoyed a movie filmed the way I hate my videographers to do their jobs so much.
The night also brought with it the reintroduction of Dance Dance Revolution. Oh how I've missed this game. My pads have been in storage ever since I moved into my house almost 2 years ago. Just couldn't figure a safe area to use them. And I think some buttons were dieing. So there it was, full arcade setup. And several DDRs mixed on this. Even the PS2 ones we were so familiar with. So played a round with my bro, the Silent Ninja. Then this dude comes over and just wanted someone to play with him. Said it was his first time. Dude was rocking Exotic Revenge on par with us, and that song killed us when we first got those things. Asked if he did music. Only explaination. Or he was the pool shark version to DDR. (was waiting for a bet). Then I mentioned how his foot placement was good. To which he confessed he tried a friend's one time at home.
That started the trend. See, as I told my brother, these kids see our large 6'4/5' frames, weighing probably twice as much as them, and their little emo asses think its smooth for them to give it a try. That machine got much love that night thanks to us. (that's like a porno line there)
The icing was when we were waiting on the credits to roll through, a group of people were leaving our row and we stood to let them out. The girl leading hits us both with "you guys were pretty good at that DDR" Sorg's floored. Just left field for me.
Or itz juzt my mad skiillz ("z's" are soo leet)

Knight Rider
So with the new Knight Rider fast approaching on February 17, and my Missfit finally seeing the preview and realizing she will watch the thing on mute if she has too (HUGE Mustang fan), I thought to look back on some past reboots that were attempted for this fabled series...
Knight Rider 2000 I have fond memories of catching this "movie of the week" that I think was meant to serve as a sort of pilot for a new series. (or a continuance, much like the Incredible Hulk TV Trilogy). I recall much of this, including KITT being recovered and installed in a classic 50's car in a garage.
Then there was this little gem I found via Wikipedia. Team Knight Rider. Don't think that Mustang is a new concept. Although much of the intro sequence reminds me of Power Rangers Turbo.
